The Trimble Dental team recommends the appropriate sedation type based on your anxiety level, the planned procedure, and your overall health. Options include nitrous oxide for mild relaxation, oral conscious sedation for deeper calm, and IV sedation for patients who want to sleep comfortably through their entire visit.
Step 3: Pre-Appointment Preparation
If oral conscious sedation or IV sedation is selected, you will receive pre-appointment instructions including dietary guidelines and transportation arrangements, since you will not be able to drive yourself home.
Step 4: Your Appointment
You arrive relaxed and comfortable. The Trimble Dental team monitors you throughout the procedure. Most patients with oral conscious sedation or IV sedation remember little or nothing of the appointment afterward.
Step 5: Recovery and Follow-Up

You will need a driver if you receive oral conscious sedation or IV sedation. Nitrous oxide wears off quickly after the mask is removed, and most patients can drive after nitrous alone. The Trimble Dental team will review transportation requirements during your consultation.
Yes. Sedation at Trimble Dental is available for cleanings, fillings, extractions, implant placement, and any other procedure. It is not limited to complex cases.
